The Sims 4 has the notorious "glitch" where chins get weaker the more you progress into generations that they never fixed. I'm still in awe, I really thought ts4 was peak genetics in the sims franchise. I really hope this level of genetic depth makes a come back in life simulator games. There's also something so satisfying about genetics that are accurate and don't prescribe to anime logic. I use to think that kind of programming was some concept of the distant future. I'm also not here to harp that sims 2 is far superior, just wanted to acknowledge what a cool accomplishment this was at the time. This is totally new to me and I don't know if it was common knowledge in the community. Furthermore, if 2 sims with recessive traits had a baby it would have 50/50 chance of inheriting either trait. However, they'll still carry the recessive trait from their Dad. I was so so amazed that sims 2 had biologically sound genetics.įor example, if the sim dad was recessive for blonde hair and blue eyes and the mum was dominant for black hair and brown eyes the kid will always pop out with black hair brown eyes. I was watching a 6 month old video by Pleasant Sims discussing genetics between ts1,2,3 and 4.
